WHAT ARE THE RULES AT ORANGETHORPE LEARNING CENTER?

• Bring your homework with you to OLC, and accept our help with it. If you don't have any homework, or if you finish your homework, you must participate in activities assigned to you by the Director and the volunteers, such as reading, worksheets, music, arts and crafts or educational computer programs.
• The Golden Rule is the rule of the day. "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you." Be courteous and respectful to all volunteers and fellow students.
• Do not use "foul" or abusive language.
• Do not bring food or drink to OLC. We provide snacks to all students at snack time.
• Help keep OLC clean. Put all trash in trashcans, not on the floor or on the ground.
• Use your "indoor voice".
• Walk, don't run.
• No toys, games, or sports equipment are allowed at OLC.
• Keep your hands and feet to yourselves. No fighting, wrestling or throwing things.
• Check in when arriving and check out when leaving OLC. Sign in and out for yourself only.
• Wear your OLC badge at all times. Turn it in at the end of the day.
• Ask an adult volunteer for permission if you need to go outside for any reason, such as going to the rest room.

WHAT IF CHILDREN BREAK THE RULES?

• If you do not follow the rules, your parent will be notified. If your misbehavior continues, one or more of the following may occur: you may be suspended for one or more days, you may not be allowed to participate in OLC special events, or you may be expelled from OLC for the rest of the school year.

¿QUÉ SON LAS REGLAS DEL ORANGETHORPE LEARNING CENTER?

• Trae tus tareas contigo al OLC, y acepta nuestra ayuda. Si no tienes tareas, o si terminas con tus tareas, debes participar en las actividades que te asignen el Director y los voluntarios, tales como la lectura, las hojas de trabajo, la música, artes y artesanías o programas educacionales en nuestras computadoras.
• La Regla de Oro es la regla del día... "Haz con otros cómo quieres que otros hagan contigo." Trata con cortesía y respeto a todos los voluntarios y a los otros estudiantes.
• No uses palabras "sucias" ni abusivas.
• No traigas comida ni bebida al OLC. Servimos los bocadillos a todos los estudiantes.
• Ayúdanos a mantener el OLC en un estado limpio. Tira la basura en los botes de basura, y no en el piso o en la tierra.
• Habla en voz baja.
• Camina; no corras.
• No se permiten los juguetes, juegos o equipo deportivo dentro del OLC.
• Guarda tus manos y pies a tí mismo. No pelees con los otros niños ni tires nada.
• Cheques tu nombre al entrar y al salir en el OLC. Sólo inscríbete a tí mismo.
• Usa tu identificación todo el tiempo. Devuélvela al fin del día.
• Pide permiso a un voluntario adulto antes de salir afuera, por ejemplo para ir al baño.

¿QUÉ PASA SI LOS ESTUDIANTES NO OBEDECEN LAS REGLAS?

• Si no obedeces las reglas, será necesario notificar a tu padre o madre. Si sigues portándote mal, tendremos que suspenderte para un día o más, o no permitirte participar en actividades especiales, o expulsarte del OLC para el resto del año escolar.
